Movie review - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Director: Jonathan Mostow

Writers: John Brancato, Michael Ferris and Tedi Sarafian

Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Kristanna Loken and Claire Danes

My guess: 6,8? - 2008? (6,3 - 2003)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

Pretty good film, but far away from the first two - but way better than the now'a'days shit (for example "Dark Fate"...)!

The "machine war" were finally nice, it indeed was pretty cool... In the first movies, I didn't like it.

Kristanna "T-X" Loken naked! What else can you say, than 'very sexy'.

"Terminator bar" scene were nice, you could say that is was a tribute to second movie. It was nice, that Arnold "Terminator" Schwarzenegger remembered the car keys place, although he was "new machine".

Nick "John Connor" Stahl was okay at his role, and so was Claire "Kate Brewster" Danes.

T-X managing other cars, was pretty nice. But a little bit to advanced. For example "T-1000" (from "T2") could do nothing like that... And then she/it could not recognise people by scanning, but only by blood... Pretty underdeveloped!

The "crane chase" was nice. It was nice to see Earl "Dr. Peter Silberman" Boen, he is funny in every Terminator trilogy movies - makes e'm whole. It would have been nice to see him in the latest Terminator movies, but maybe it was good that he were only on the original trilogy!

The "coffin" shootout was nice, rocket launcher was cool!

'Minigun robots' were cool.

"Desire is irrelevant. I am a machine", very nice sentence.

Ending were pretty nice, not best - but okay! Movie was mediocre, but... Well, as I said - (much) better than the new ones... Pretty good trilogy, you might say. But I'm satisfied by the two first movies, this third movie doesn't have a place in my collection - sadly...

Movie review - War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds

Director: Steven Spielberg

Writers: Josh Friedman, David Koepp and H.G. Wells

Actors: Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, Justin Chatwin and Tim Robbins

My guess: 6,6? - 2008? (6,5 - 2005)

My Points: 7,1 - 3½/5

Well, a pretty nice movie - but not the best...

Baseball between the father; Tom "Ray Ferrier" Cruise and the son; Justin "Robbie" Chatwin was nice.

Dakota "Rachel Ferrier" Fanning as the daughter was also nice, although I - in the days - hated her! But, she little 'over' acted - and not so little...

The Aliens 'in the asfalt' were pretty nice and cool. When they 'shooted' people, it was nice when they turned in to dust clouds.

When Ray 'dealed' the breads like playing Poker, and kids where just yawning - was pretty damn funny!

The fallen plane wreck was nice, looked kinda real. Hijacking the 'solar' car was nice.

Robbie going in to the 'army war' was cool.

Nice to see Tim Robbins, 'his' movie The Shawshank Redemption (1994) is still number one (maybe not in my opinion, but in IMDb it indeed is still number one). But he's scene ('the cellar') was kinda boring, and stupid! Aliens searching every cellar, dont think so... Or maybe they just searched in accidentally that one (where the good guys were...)?!

The ending, well... kinda shitty and 'blaaaah' - I didn't like (expecially for the first time, but not even now...)!

Movie review - Häjyt

Häjyt

Director: Aleksi Mäkelä

Writers: Aleksi Bardy

Actors: Samuli Edelmann, Juha Veijonen and Teemu Lehtilä

My guess: 6,8? - 2000? (7,1 - 1999)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

A very good Finnish movie, one of the best! The music is great!

Samuli "Jussi Murikka" Edelmann and Juha "Antti Karhu" Veijonen was an awesome "bad guys" (which 'name' I will use for now on) twosome.

Bad guys (and police man) singing "Murheellisten laulujen maa" was very nice!

It was funny when the bad guys eat the buffet, what was reserved for "nimismies".

It was also funny, when Jussi & Antti got a job from supermarket. Jussi "haistatti paskat" (smelled the bullshit) and leave the job right away. Antti stayed for a while, but when he got enough - it was funny when he left the supermarket "ovet paukkuen" (doors banging) - and gived the boss "a ride of his life".

It was a sad moment, when the grandpa died. Or did he died..? Watch the movie, which I definately recommend!

Also a very sad moment, when the young boy died...

It was funny, when Eero "Stig (Koskinen) Nenonen" Aho got beaten a couples of times - expecially to the 'nasal area'. I think, now'a'days he wouldn't do this kinda part - 'cause he's a kinda big star. For example, he plays "Koskinen" and was on Tuntematon sotilas (2017). His ego could't do this "mother's son" kinda role anymore. At least, that is my guess...

That was some stupidy, that Jussi could't rip off the cars armrest (picture)?! Hell, even I could do that...

Or maybe he wanted to die, dont know... But minus that stupidy, this was a great movie - what I have always liked (from childhood to now...)!

This may not be a great movie to 'foreigners' (out of Finland), but all finns definately could love this one without any inhibitions. But I recommend you to give this a chance, there's subtitles (to English) - so...

Movie review - Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Director: James Cameron

Writers: James Cameron and William Wisher

Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick

My guess: 9,0? - 1991? (8,6 - 1991)

My Points: 9,1 - 4½/5

Oh my good, now this is a very good movie! I have liked this one from childhood, to... forever! You could say "Arnold forever!!1".

The war part - yet again, as in the first one - didn't like it. O'h well, maybe it was alright by now watching it - but as a child it was boring as hell.

The bar scene was nice "I need your clothes... (and so on)", and Arnold 'getting' the iconic sunglasses - nice!

Edward "John Connor" Furlong was nice as he's 'rebellion teen' character and so was Robert "T-1000" Patrick - not forgetting the awesome Arnold "The Terminator" Schwarzenegger. Linda "Sarah Connor" Hamilton was also okay.

Altough, I didn't like Sarah 'hospital' scene('s), they were kinda boring...

Earl "Dr. Silberman" Boen was yet again also nice and funny, as in the first one.

Mall scene was nice and intense.

When the T-1000 killed John's foster parents, it was nice. I mean when the T-1000 as Jenette "Janelle Voight" Goldstein pierced with his 'hand spike' Xander "Todd Voight" Berkeley, it was nicely done.

The 'floor guy' was nice, when T-1000 rised from the floor. Played (when T-1000 has risen and changed his appearance) by Don and Dan Stanton, who also were in Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990). I could watch and review them (Gremlins) also.

The hospital scene were nice, when Sarah made her escape. And when she meet up with Terminator, "it will kill everyone" - was nice!

It was nice, when they went to get weapons from Castulo "Enrique Salceda" Guerra. So much cool weapons, like the legendary Minigun. Grenade launcher were also nice.

Attack at Cyberdyne was nice. There The Terminator used his awesome weapons, like it mentioned earlier; Minigun and grenade launcher - very satisfying to watch!

The when the police gunned down The Terminator, it getting ripped off - was awesome.

T-1000 hijacking and chasing the good guys with the helicopter, was nice.

"Hasta la vista, baby", f*cking nice!

When T-1000 died, or melted - it was nice that it showed all the character who it had killed.

And the ending, so great - and touching!

This movie is so awesome, especially when I was a child. I watched this almost every week, or even a every day - it was so good...

This quite did not get five star, even Léon (1994) didn't get (what got 0,1 better grade). I dont know, will I ever give full (5 stars) to any movie, we shall see... But this one was very close, an awesome movie - which everyone could see - civic duty, indeed!

Movie review - The Terminator

The Terminator

Director: James Cameron

Writers: James Cameron, Gale Anne Hurd and William Wisher

Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn

My guess: 8,4? - 1981? (8,1 - 1984)

My Points: 8,5 - 4+/5

Now this is some good - an awesome, movie! The music is great, legendary!

"What the hell" trashman is funny, I have always laughed at that (when he says "what the hell", in a funny style).

The hooligans are nice! "Nice night for a walk, eh?", "wash day tomorrow? Nothing clean, right?", so funny. You can recognise one (or all) of the punks; Bill "Punk Leader" Paxton. And then there is the police, Lance "Vukovich" Henriksen. Why I mention these guys? Well, they're both in Aliens (1986) - btw which James Cameron directed.

The gunstore scene was nice, "Uzi 9mm". Then Terminator loaded the shotgun, and... Good stuff!

Hunting "Sarah Connor" were also nice. Although, how primitive the Terminator was?! He could't recognise Sarah... He's a machine, from the future!? Well, this was the first movie, so... I guess they evolved! But they got way too skillful in the later movies. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) is still okay, I mean T1000. But on the later movies, when the 'machines' can operate many moving cars and shit like that - and bullets don't do nothing (same thou with T1000)! That went too far... I like this simple Terminator.

The "machine war", well... I have hated it even from childhood, it is just boring to watch!?

The cops, I mean two 'main' cops - were nice! I already mentioned Lance, Paul "Traxler" Winfield were also good.

Bar scene were nice, "come with me if you wanna live" - awesome!

The story/history/future, by telling Michael "Kyle Reese" Biehn was intresting and nice. The psychologist Earl "Silberman" Boen was funny, I have always liked him (from T2 to T1, first I saw T2).

That was a nice scene, when The Terminator repaired him/it-self, nice to see him 'suffer'.

"I'll be back", legendary!

Police station shooting were nice.

And at the end, "ur terminated" - nice!

I havent mention Arnold or Linda?! Well, everyone knows them, so... Usually I dont have lots to say about woman actors, but Linda "Sarah Connor" Hamilton is a awesome character! She's (Sarah) and he's (Kyle) love romance was nice. And btw, Sigourney "Ripley" Weaver is also awesome, if I can 'jump around'.

And ofcourse Arnold "The Terminator" Schwarzenegger, awesome stuff! Arnold is like, well... born to play The Terminator, he's so good at it!

But then, well... I could watch T2 and review that! It's just a little bit better in grade, but now'a'days I like more T1. It so simple, and good! Do I will give T2 five stars, well... that we will see later...

Movie review - The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen

Director: Guy Ritchie

Writers: Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies

Actors: Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Grant, Henry Golding and Colin Farrell

My guess: 6,6? - 2020? (7,8 - 2019)

My Points: 7,1 - 3½/5

I aint gotta lots to say about this one. This wasn't bad, but neither that good - but I just got nothing to say...

There were lots of good actors, nice cast! You can trust in Guy Ritchie.

The slang was nice, and so was the story.

But what I didn't like, was that this tried so hard to be witty - but it didn't succeed! At least in my opinion, that was a big minus...

But overall, a pretty good movie - which I can recommend you to see... Especially if you like Guy Ritchies work! I could definately watch some of his old works (like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 1998" & "Snatch - 2000") - those are some good movies!

Movie review - Assassins

Assassins

Director: Richard Donner

Writers: Lilly Wachowski, Lana Wachowski and Brian Helgeland

Actors: Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore

My guess: 6,3? - 1996? (6,3 - 1995)

My Points: 7,0 - 3½/5

Nice, good - 90's movie. I liked this one! I mean I have 'always' like this, 'cause I have seen this about ten times.

The chemistry between Sylvester "Robert Rath" Stallone and Antonio "Miguel Bain" Banderas was nice! Cool names also, btw...

Chess was nice addition. The action were also very nice, Miguel was on a roll! There where couple of nice explosion's - altough, there were pretty bad CGI when it (explosion) wasn't real. But when it was (real) - if it was?! It although seemed to be - it was very nice looking!

The chatting were pretty funny, at least with Miguel (and the 'bad guy'), Miguel loosing his nerve.

The bank scene were pretty nice, Miguel being very nervous and sweatting.

The ending twist were pretty nice. But only "nice", not great...

But a very good action flik from the 90's, which I definately recommend to everyone. There is lots of others stuff, than blasting off with guns. Good movie, I liked!
