Movie review - The Godfather Part III

The Godfather Part III

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola

Actors: Al Pacino, Diane Keaton and Andy Garcia

My guess: 7,9? - 1991? (7,6 - 1990)

My Points: 7,4 - 4-/5

Well, this was a little bit better - than the second movie. But not the best, this was also far way from the original part one.

The new character; Andy "Vincent Mancini" GarcĂa did a nice job advancing the mob ladder.

Al "Michael Corleone" Pacino's heart attack were nice. I don't mean, it was "nice" - but good plot twist.

The "horse cop" shootout at the parade was nice.

This movie seemed to have a point, in the second movie - it was just pointless. This one was intresting all the time, 'cause of the good point.

Michael Corleone's confession was nice, him sobbing about.

But Michael wasn't "godfatherly like", he wondered around almost alone. There wasn't much of security guard. Or maybe they were hidden, or it has his "own" village. Don't know.

But in the first movie, Marlon "Don Vito Corleone" Brando really feel'ed like a godfather - Michael on the hand (in this third movie); NOT!

At the end half, the opera - it was a little bit too long, and boring... But the ending of the movie were kinda nice!

But overall, a pretty satisfying movie - not the best, but not the worst.

So the first one was easily the best (grade: 7,8), then came this - the third one (grade: 7,4) and the second one was the worst (grade: 7,2).

But overall, a pretty damn good trilogy. Will they ever made more of these, I don't think so... But maybe a reboot, that would be possible.

But I'm afraid, that it (reboot) would be a shitty one - so hopefully they don't make it...

This is just good, as it is now - a nice trilogy!

Movie review - The Godfather Part II

The Godfather Part II

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo

Actors: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall

My guess: 7,7? - 1981? (9,0 - 1974)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

A very slow beginning, VERY SLOW!

Well, this movie is so long (3h 22min) - so there has to be lots of 'boring' scenes.

But, there also almost didn't have any point. Like this were a over due tv-show.

This was far away from the first movies awesomene's.

In the end, there where finally something happening, but...

This was slow, and kinda boring movie.

I dont get, how this got 9.0 points (on IMDb)?!

This is maybe the worst of the trilogy, I cant think how the "Part III" can be worst than this...

Well, this has better grade (on IMDb), but I'm guessing this one is the worst - of the Godfather trilogy...

Well, the next movie - what I will review - will be the third and last movie. Then we will know the order of these movies (at least in my opinion...)!

Movie review - The Godfather

The Godfather

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola

Actors: Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan

My guess: 8,4? - 1978? (9,2 - 1972)

My Points: 7,8 - 4/5

Well, a very good movie - but not "that good".

I'm referring to IMDb's points; 9,2/10 and second best on the "top rated movies". I only gave 7,8/10, which is also a good grade - but far away from IMDb's...

Marlon "Don Vito Corleone" Brandon's "offer he can't refuse", very nice classic sentence! The horses head on the bed, I'm speechless how good it was.

The restaurant shooting were nice.

James "Sonny Corleone" Caan was nice, when he defended his sister honor, by beating the "woman (her sister) hitter".

The "car shootout" was nice scene, a definate classic.

It was nice, when Al "Michael Corleone" Pacino took over "the family". The ending was nice, the door slowly closing...

Very nice!

Movie review - The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen

Director: Guy Ritchie

Writers: Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies

Actors: Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Grant, Henry Golding and Colin Farrell

My guess: 6,6? - 2020? (7,8 - 2019)

My Points: 7,1 - 3½/5

I aint gotta lots to say about this one. This wasn't bad, but neither that good - but I just got nothing to say...

There were lots of good actors, nice cast! You can trust in Guy Ritchie.

The slang was nice, and so was the story.

But what I didn't like, was that this tried so hard to be witty - but it didn't succeed! At least in my opinion, that was a big minus...

But overall, a pretty good movie - which I can recommend you to see... Especially if you like Guy Ritchies work! I could definately watch some of his old works (like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 1998" & "Snatch - 2000") - those are some good movies!

Movie review - Gangster Squad

Gangster Squad

Director: Ruben Fleischer

Actors: Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone

My guess: 5,4? - 2018? (6,7 - 2013)

My Points: 5,3 - 3-/5

Well, this was a shitty movie... There were a lot of stars - most of them mediocre, but still this one managed to suck badly! I aint even gonna mention all of them, just the biggest/interesting (in this movie) stars.

So, there were Josh "Sgt. John O'Mara" Brolin, Sean "Mickey Cohen" Penn, Ryan "Sgt. Jerry Wooters" Gosling and Emma "Grace Faraday" Stone. So, a lot of stars - including the 'smaller' stars, but that doesn't mean anything. At least in shitty movies like this...

And then I also gotta mention Nick "Chief Parker" Nolte, I liked/like him.

The movies plot were interesting, to 'destroy' Cohen - by 'dirty' cops. But - sadly, this didn't succeed (in being a good movie)!

John O'Mara wifes reaction were good, when she clarifyd what shes husband is doing. And the she helped him choose the 'bad' cops, nice!

I liked Jerry Wooters and Grace Faradays relationship. Mickey would have killed Jerry, if he had found out them. Jerry; "who? Mickey Mouse", that was funny!

The casino "trying" heist was ridiculous! Not that they tried it, but nobody didn't hit (with guns) anything?! I understand, that the good guys missed deliberately (didnt't want to kill innocent cops), but how the hell about ten cops didn't hit anything (except couple of bullets in the cars)?! Ridiculous...

Same thing, when there were a car chase. Bad guys blasting of with machine guns, but don't hit anything (except - yet again, couple of holes in the windscreen)?! Yawn...

Jail break was kinda funny. At least when they tried to pull the cage barred out with a car, and blew it... Well, the whole movie is a 'blew'!

The slowmo machine gun shooting was nice, shit getting nicely destroyed!

So, this movie had something good - but overall pretty shitty movie. I don't recommend this one, except if you are a huge mafia fan. Or there are lot of you favorite actors in this one. But if not, avoid this travesty...

Movie review - GoodFellas

Director: Martin Scorsese
Actors: Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci
My guess: 8,6? - 1992? (8,7 - 1990)
My Points: 8,8 - 4,5/5
What an awesome movie, I like - I like very much. The actors were great, Joe Pesci maybe did the best job. He definately earned his Oscar for this.
Ray Liotta was also good. But I didn't like his "fake" laugh.
Robert De Niro was also good, or maybe a little bit mediocre.
The "postman beating up" was good. Violent isn't good thing, but I think evebody though that they were beating his father (who would have been the postman), but they just didn't want the unpleasant mail to get to his parents (so the beat up the postman).
Lorraine Braccos role were also good. I liked when she got mad, and speed up to meet Ray Liottas character and started yelling. Ray (or his character) liked it also, so they started dating...
The prison scene was also good. They just made some good food and sit down relaxing, cool!
That was good, when Robert De Niros character didn't like - when the other mobster spended money from the heist, although Niro had said "dont spend a dime". But they didn't obey, they just spended money to shit...
So, well... I guess everyone knows (who is interested of this movie), that Pescis character got wasted! That was a big blow, although I kinda remembered that. It was very nice cinematic!
The ending were great. Not awesome, but great... Awesome movie altogether, which I definately recommend - expecially if you like Good"mafia"Fellas movies!
