Movie review - Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick

Director: Joseph Kosinski

Writers: Jim Cash, Jack Epps Jr. and Peter Craig

Actors: Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller

My guess: 7,0? - 2021? (8,3 - 2022)

My Points: 7,3 - 4-/5

The first one is way too better, than this sequal - it's a classic!

Not that, this is bad - but the first one is just so good. The points are maybe a little bit too close, but this sequal gets points - for being so good, in now'a'days. When the movies kinda sucks, expecially comparing to the old ones...

The "Kill Bill drinking water by being dusty" was fun.

It was nice to hear "Great Balls Of Fire" again - by "the son".

Nice to see Val "Adm. Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky" Kilmer again, too bad - that in poor condition.

Nice to see, Tom "Capt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell" Cruise succeeding two times with the fighter.

It was also nice to see Jennifer "Penny Benjamin" Connelly and Ed "Radm. Chester 'Hammer' Cain" Harris, not forgetting Anthony "Goose" Edwards son, Miles "Lt. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw" Teller. The "bully" Glen "Lt. Jake 'Hangman' Seresin" Powell was also good addition.

Roosters "comeback" was cool. And so was the end "battle".

Overall, a pretty damn nice movie - expecially for so new movie. But the first one, it will always be near to my heart - no (sequal) can "Top" that.

Movie review - Top Gun

Top Gun

Director: Tony Scott

Writers: Jim Cash, Jack Epps Jr. and Ehud Yonay

Actors: Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards and Meg Ryan

My guess: 7,1? - 1986? (6,9 - 1986)

My Points: 7,4 - 4-/5

Well, this was an excelent movie - and always will be. It's a classic! Whatever some-one says...

The music was excelent!

"Karaoke" scene was nice, and ofcource the "flye-by".

This movie had excelent cast; Val "Ace" Kilmer, Anthony "Goose" Edwards & his spouce Meg "Carole" Ryan, Michael "Jester" Ironside and orcourse the "lovers" Tom "Maverick" Cruise & Kelly "Charlie" McGillis.

I liked, I liked very much!

The volleyball scene was nice. And Maverick riding his motorbike.

Goose dying, what a sad moment. Even now, when I have seen this movie about ten times. Ofcourse, at first time - it was the saddest...

Final mission was a nice ending to this awesome movie!

This movie could be an general education, whether you like - or don't like, fighters. Awesome movie!

Movie review - Blade: Trinity

Blade: Trinity

Director: David S. Goyer

Writers: David S. Goyer, Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan

Actors: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Dominic Purcell, Parker Posey and Paul Levesque

My guess: 6,3? - 2006? (5,8 - 2004)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

Well, this was a little bit better - than the second movie. But the first one will - probably, always be the best. I mean, if there is a "Blade 4" coming. I haven't heard any rumors, but it still may be possible.

There were some good actors in this movie. Or do I mean 'good'?! It was nice to see Paul "Triple 'Jarko Grimwood' H" Levesque in movies. Sadly, he didn't get much "Hollywood success" - 'cause I like him.

Then there of course were the good guys/girls; Ryan "Hannibal King" Reynolds and Jessica "Abigail Whistler" Biel. They were both great, together.

Then there were the bad guys; Dominic "Drake" Purcell was nice, and so was Parker "Danica Talos" Posey. "Triple H" I already mentioned.

Then there were they're "vampire" dogs, they were funny.

The action? It were pretty nice, CGI effects were way too better - than the previous one (expecially comparing to the first movie...)!

It was nice, when Blade did "the K.I.T.T. of the truck". I'm referring to the Knight Rider (1982–1986).

I'm was pretty lame, how the bad guys did the "stage Blade as guilty to kill a human". So someone just agreed to be killed?! And how did they know where to film it? Because before that (stage), there was a long car chase. The camera-man/girl just magically waited at the right spot, yea right...

And Whistler died yet again, and pretty damn easily...

And the S.W.A.T., there were like 20-30 cops - and nobody didn't hit anything?! And they attacked by hand to hand combat, although they had machine guns, okay?!

The cops didn't know diddly-squat about vampires, okay?! There's like a half a dozen (thousands) of them, killing people - and cops don't know nothing about them...

And they didn't even research Blade, the first vampire they see - stupid!

"Hannibal King" was funny, good jokes all the time. Definately material to "Deadpool" character.

Blade yelling "use it, use it...", it was nice!

The end action scene were pretty nice. Not the best, but not the worst.

A good movie, overall!

So, there we had the Blade trilogy. First one was the best, then came this (Trinity...)! Hopefully there is a fourth one coming, it would (hopefully?) be nice. But it would be nothing without Wesley Snipes, he's the "essance". He is just getting pretty old, but...

Time will tell, I'm eagerly waiting...

Movie review - Blade II

Blade II

Director: Guillermo del Toro

Writers: Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan and David S. Goyer

Actors: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ron Perlman and Norman Reedus

My guess: 6,6? - 2003? (6,7 - 2002)

My Points: 7,1 - 3½/5

Well, this was a pretty good movie - you might say a decent one...

CGI effects were much better than in the first one. Ofcourse, 'cause this is a newer movie. But they still kinda sucked, compared to now'a'days effects.

Norman "Scud" Reedus was a nice addition, I like him. But he smoked too much cigarette. And it always was a "new" cigarette, it never was already smoked (like in the half way). Not that stupid, but... it caught my eye.

It was nice go get Kris "Whistler" Kristofferson back. If I remember correctly, he's also in the third movie. But he died "stupidly" in that one, if my memory works.

The "sword fight" was nice. Until they f*cked it up with very - VERY, bad CGI. It looked like a game, when Blade jump around like an idiot. Poor choice, to use CGI - it was pointless. Maybe they just wanted to test their "evolved CGI skills", bad choice.

Ron "Reinhardt" Perlman was a good choice to cast in this movie, I like him also.

The "flash" granades were a nice addition to weapon collection. And ofcourse the legendary sword from the first movie, it is very nice!

But yeah, a pretty damn good movie!

I think, that this is better than the third one. I mean in points. Blade: Trinity (2004) is maybe more entertaining, and has more nice stars (like Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Dominic Purcell, Paul "Triple H" Levesque etc...)!

But this is more intelligent, Trinity is... well, kinda "stupid". But the first one will always be the best, like almost every time (in case of movies). Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) may be the only exception to the "rule".

Movie review - Blade

Blade

Director: Stephen Norrington

Writers: David S. Goyer

Actors: Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson

My guess: 6,9? - 2003? (7,1 - 1998)

My Points: 7,5 - 4-/5

Well, this was a good movie - like I remembered.

Wesley Snipes was awesome as "Blade". It was also nice to see Kenny "Heatseeking Dennis" Johnson from one of my favorite TV shows; The Shield (2002–2008).

Stephen "Deacon Frost" Dorff as the bad guy, was a nice role.

"Blood shower" was nice. "Good old movies" have nice scenes, like this one.

But, the CGI effects were pretty terrible. They have been out dated!

"The big fat monster" was funny, it would have to be nice see him/her(?) more.

Kris "Whistler" Kristofferson death was sad. I mean, I didn't cry (who cries on Blade?!), but it was very sad.

The "final battle" was pretty nice. Not the best, but not the worst...

But overall, a pretty damn good movie! Don't know about the sequals, but I quess they are at least pretty "ok". I mean, I have seen them. But it's so long time when I saw them, so...

But let's find out in a couples of days.

Movie review - The Crow

The Crow

Director: Alex Proyas

Writers: James O'Barr, David J. Schow and John Shirley

Actors: Brandon Lee, Michael Wincott and Rochelle Davis

My guess: 7,7? - 1991? (7,5 - 1994)

My Points: 7,8 - 4/5

Ou my god..!! An very excelent movie, this is how movies could be made. And they did, in the ninetys, that oblivously is my favorite decade!

So many good movies, I would take forever to list - so I spare of that (me and you, the possible reader).

Or maybe one, The Rock (1996) is also awesome!

But back to this awesome movie. The plot was excelent, little bit simple - but good enough. The flashback's introducing what has happened to Brandon "Eric" Lee, nice job.

The "actual" crow was a nice feature.

Ernie "Albrecht" Hudson and Rochelle "Sarah" Davis were intresting guy(s)/girl(s). And the bad guys were also good, Michael "Top Dollar" Wincott and Tony "Grange" Todd.

"There Ain't No Coming Back" scene was nice, good acting and music fit nicely.

And the action scenes, f*cking awesome! Compared to these days shitty movies (and their action scenes), this was so good.

I just wanted to watch it over and over. I mean, when I was watching this - I just wanted to watch it again and again. This was so good.

And maybe I will, not just the best parts - but the whole movie again (and again...)! You just don't get tired in good movies like this.

I'm speechless, excelent movie - which I recommend to everyone, no matter the age or sex.

Movie review - Ocean's Eight

Ocean's Eight

Director: Gary Ross

Writers: Gary Ross, Olivia Milch and George Clayton Johnson

Actors: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway

My guess: 6,6? - 2019? (6,3 - 2018)

My Points: 6,8 - 3½/5

Well, what would I say...

This wasn't a shitty movie, but a little bit disappointment.

This movie has a nice cast (Sandra "Debbie Ocean" Bullock, Cate "Lou" Blanchett, Anne "Daphne Kluger" Hathaway, Nine "Rihanna" Ball and Awkwafina "Constance"), but still it failed! At least in my opinion.

I remembered that this was an eight (pun intended) movie, but it's only a seven out of ten.

It was nice to see Elliott "Reuben" Gould, although it was just an cameo. And we saw George "Danny Ocean" Clooney, but only by an picture.

James "John Frazier" Corden and Shaobo "Yen" Qin was also nice to see.

Overall, a pretty decent movie - but...

Mediocre movies aint so nice, good are obviously good/great - and bad are so bad that they usually are funny, 'cause of that (that they suck!).

But mediocre is just boring, mediocre shit...

So I rather watch good or shit, not this... shit?

Movie review - Bumblebee

Bumblebee

Director: Travis Knight

Writer: Christina Hodson

Actors: Hailee Steinfeld, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and John Cena

My guess: 7,3? - 2019? (6,7 - 2018)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

Well, this was somewhat decent movie...

But, I were almost giving this an "8(/10)" - remembering this was good (when I first time saw it on movie theater).

But, my grade lowered to "7(/10)", this was quite awful movie.

What bothered the most, was the "stupid scenes". There were alot of them.

But if I would list them all, it would take eternity...

John "Agent Burns" Cena was in this one, that was a nice surprise - I didn't remember that. First I didn't like him (in wrestling, Cena), but now I think he's pretty superb. Maybe 'cause he has been in good movies, at first - they were shitty ass hell. For example, 12 Rounds (2009) was terrible.

It was nice to see Pamela "Marcy Runkle" Adlon for a long time. I know her only by Californication (2007-2014).

Then there were Hailee "Charlie" Steinfeld, I like her too. I remember her from True Grit (2010). What a good actress.

But the movie - I mean it "main point", the (Transformers) robots. They were cool, like in every movie.

But sadly, this movie had hope (indeed almost being an "8" movie), but it only got "7" - what a pity...

Movie review - Pan

Pan

Director: Joe Wright

Writers: Jason Fuchs and J.M. Barrie

Actors: Levi Miller, Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund

My guess: 5,8? - 2019? (5,7 - 2015)

My Points: 6,3 - 3+/5

Well, another shitty movie yet again...

E'm I cursed?!

Well, maybe I just voluntarily choose these shitty movies.

What was the singing in this movie? It was good, but the song?! It was brand new... In a pirates movie!?

Well, an unusual choice - that didn't work, at least on me... It just sounded stupid and ridiculous, and did not fit in the context.

This movie just felt ludicrous, but it seemed to have hope. But, it didn't redeem it - a pile of shit, is a stinking...

Crocodiles were pretty nice, but they had too few screen time.

The end battle was pretty nice, not the best - but not the worst.

I wrote down (in the beginning and in the end) two times "shit", and well... That sums it up!

Movie review - The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave

Director: J Blakeson

Writers: Susannah Grant, Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner

Actors: Chloë Grace Moretz, Matthew Zuk and Gabriela Lopez

My guess: 5,4? - 2020? (5,2 - 2016)

My Points: 6,4 - 3+/5

Well, pretty interesting beginning...

But then it turned into shit...

The CGI effect were pretty terrible, looked like cheap garbage. Even this is a big budget movie, at least I think so (by looking the actors/actress, Moretz expecially...)!

What a stupid way to make suspense, by making Chloë "Cassie"Grace "Sullivan" Moretz get the idiot stuffed animal for his brother and missing the bus. Boring!

Cassie were way too beatiful. I mean, her face and hair were way to clean - if/when she was in the forest couple of days. But then suddenly her face was dirty, little points for that... But she was way too clean for too long time, expecially her hair.

The action/shooting were terrible. They just shooted everywhere, nobody hitting nothing - which almost every movie tumbles down.

And the plot twist, terrible.

And where was the aliens? Sometimes you saw them flying with their stupid ships, but...

What were they doing on earth, I didn't get that?! Maybe I missed it, or just loose intrest to follow this shit of a pile!

So, this had some sence (some decent plot twist!) - but overall; a pretty damn shitty movie.

I don't recommend this to no one, not even if you wanna watch "no-brain movie". Which (brain) this movie had nothing, useless movie...

Movie review - Spiral: From the Book of Saw

Spiral: From the Book of Saw

Director: Darren Lynn Bousman

Writers: Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger

Actors: Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson and Max Minghella

My guess: 6,5? - 2020? (5,2 - 2021)

My Points: 6,5 - 3+/5

Well, this movie was... Shit? I mean, it wasn't the worst - but definately wasn't the best.

It was brutal, so if you like that - then you might like this one...

To me, it (brutality) wasn't "nice" - but it was "watchable".

The stars were surprise (which I knew before watching this), Chris "Detective Zeke Banks" Rock and Samuel "Marcus" L. "Banks" Jackson in "Saw" movie - nice!

The "traps" were nice, although they seemed to be little bit "over". They were way too complicated.

Alhough, I dont remember how they (traps) were in the other Saw movies - but the first one (2004) was very simple.

And nice, I have always liked that one - from the first time in movie theaters. Ofcourse the "first watch" was the best, 'cause you didn't know what's happening.

And the last twist, very nice!

So, the first movie is easily the best, these sequals and whatnot movies are just brainless.

Just to watch with "empty head".

But the first, I definately recommend to see that - instead of this travesty garbage...

Movie review - War Dogs

War Dogs

Director: Todd Phillips

Writers: Stephen Chin, Todd Phillips and Jason Smilovic

Actors: Jonah Hill, Miles Teller and Steve Lantz

My guess: 6,9? - 2018? (7,1 - 2016)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

First of, where have Jonah Hill disappeared? I haven't seen him any movie for ages...

And that is a sad thing, 'cause I like him a lot!

Maybe he will do a comeback?

But on with the review, although I aint got lots to say about it...

Yes, this is a good movie - but there's not much to say.

It was nice to watch, when Jonah "Efraim Diveroli" Hill and Miles "David Packouz" Teller business started to roll on. I was on their side, that it would work.

Well, this is a movie - so ofcourse there are potholes.

The journey to Bangkok (or what it was, I dont remember anymore) was nice. Intense, and some gun shooting.

Bradley "Henry Girard" Cooper was a nice addition, I like him.

David Packouz wife were hot, Ana de "Iz" Armas to be exact.

The music were also nice.

So overall, a pretty decent movie - not the best, but not the worst...

Movie review - The Godfather Part III

The Godfather Part III

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola

Actors: Al Pacino, Diane Keaton and Andy Garcia

My guess: 7,9? - 1991? (7,6 - 1990)

My Points: 7,4 - 4-/5

Well, this was a little bit better - than the second movie. But not the best, this was also far way from the original part one.

The new character; Andy "Vincent Mancini" García did a nice job advancing the mob ladder.

Al "Michael Corleone" Pacino's heart attack were nice. I don't mean, it was "nice" - but good plot twist.

The "horse cop" shootout at the parade was nice.

This movie seemed to have a point, in the second movie - it was just pointless. This one was intresting all the time, 'cause of the good point.

Michael Corleone's confession was nice, him sobbing about.

But Michael wasn't "godfatherly like", he wondered around almost alone. There wasn't much of security guard. Or maybe they were hidden, or it has his "own" village. Don't know.

But in the first movie, Marlon "Don Vito Corleone" Brando really feel'ed like a godfather - Michael on the hand (in this third movie); NOT!

At the end half, the opera - it was a little bit too long, and boring... But the ending of the movie were kinda nice!

But overall, a pretty satisfying movie - not the best, but not the worst.

So the first one was easily the best (grade: 7,8), then came this - the third one (grade: 7,4) and the second one was the worst (grade: 7,2).

But overall, a pretty damn good trilogy. Will they ever made more of these, I don't think so... But maybe a reboot, that would be possible.

But I'm afraid, that it (reboot) would be a shitty one - so hopefully they don't make it...

This is just good, as it is now - a nice trilogy!

Movie review - The Godfather Part II

The Godfather Part II

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo

Actors: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall

My guess: 7,7? - 1981? (9,0 - 1974)

My Points: 7,2 - 3½/5

A very slow beginning, VERY SLOW!

Well, this movie is so long (3h 22min) - so there has to be lots of 'boring' scenes.

But, there also almost didn't have any point. Like this were a over due tv-show.

This was far away from the first movies awesomene's.

In the end, there where finally something happening, but...

This was slow, and kinda boring movie.

I dont get, how this got 9.0 points (on IMDb)?!

This is maybe the worst of the trilogy, I cant think how the "Part III" can be worst than this...

Well, this has better grade (on IMDb), but I'm guessing this one is the worst - of the Godfather trilogy...

Well, the next movie - what I will review - will be the third and last movie. Then we will know the order of these movies (at least in my opinion...)!

Movie review - The Godfather

The Godfather

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Writers: Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola

Actors: Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan

My guess: 8,4? - 1978? (9,2 - 1972)

My Points: 7,8 - 4/5

Well, a very good movie - but not "that good".

I'm referring to IMDb's points; 9,2/10 and second best on the "top rated movies". I only gave 7,8/10, which is also a good grade - but far away from IMDb's...

Marlon "Don Vito Corleone" Brandon's "offer he can't refuse", very nice classic sentence! The horses head on the bed, I'm speechless how good it was.

The restaurant shooting were nice.

James "Sonny Corleone" Caan was nice, when he defended his sister honor, by beating the "woman (her sister) hitter".

The "car shootout" was nice scene, a definate classic.

It was nice, when Al "Michael Corleone" Pacino took over "the family". The ending was nice, the door slowly closing...

Very nice!

Movie review - The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Director: Tom Gormican

Writers: Tom Gormican & Kevin Etten

Actors: Nicolas Cage, Pedro Pascal & Tiffany Haddish

My guess: 7,2? - 2021? (7,0 - 2022)

My Points: 6,6 - 3+/5

Well, this is gonna be a short one...

The movie was pretty okay, but not that good - that I have lots to say about this one.

It was nice, that the 'guys' spoke of Nick Cage other movies - like he were a 'real' guy.

And what I mean by 'real', this movie was ridicilous. Nick Cage would have died immediately, in real life...

I dont have any example, but... he would have died very soon, if he were a 'real' guy.

Nick Cages 'old stuff' were great, best one was his golden guns!

And thats it, I got nothing else to say...

Except, that I expected a four star movie, but this travesty just got little over three stars.

So it was a dissapointment, not all bad - but... Pretty bad, I aint gonna buy this on my (DVD/Blu-ray/4K) collection.

Sad, 'cause this had potential...

P.S. And yes, I know he's whole name is "Nicholas" - but in the movie it was shortened to "Nick". Don't know, is he "just Nick" in somewhere else (e.g. in the entertainment magazines), but... Yea!
