Movie review - Blade II

Blade II

Director: Guillermo del Toro

Writers: Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan and David S. Goyer

Actors: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ron Perlman and Norman Reedus

My guess: 6,6? - 2003? (6,7 - 2002)

My Points: 7,1 - 3½/5

Well, this was a pretty good movie - you might say a decent one...

CGI effects were much better than in the first one. Ofcourse, 'cause this is a newer movie. But they still kinda sucked, compared to now'a'days effects.

Norman "Scud" Reedus was a nice addition, I like him. But he smoked too much cigarette. And it always was a "new" cigarette, it never was already smoked (like in the half way). Not that stupid, but... it caught my eye.

It was nice go get Kris "Whistler" Kristofferson back. If I remember correctly, he's also in the third movie. But he died "stupidly" in that one, if my memory works.

The "sword fight" was nice. Until they f*cked it up with very - VERY, bad CGI. It looked like a game, when Blade jump around like an idiot. Poor choice, to use CGI - it was pointless. Maybe they just wanted to test their "evolved CGI skills", bad choice.

Ron "Reinhardt" Perlman was a good choice to cast in this movie, I like him also.

The "flash" granades were a nice addition to weapon collection. And ofcourse the legendary sword from the first movie, it is very nice!

But yeah, a pretty damn good movie!

I think, that this is better than the third one. I mean in points. Blade: Trinity (2004) is maybe more entertaining, and has more nice stars (like Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Dominic Purcell, Paul "Triple H" Levesque etc...)!

But this is more intelligent, Trinity is... well, kinda "stupid". But the first one will always be the best, like almost every time (in case of movies). Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) may be the only exception to the "rule".
