Movie review - Red Sparrow

Red Sparrow

Director: Francis Lawrence

Actors: Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton and Matthias Schoenaerts

My guess: 7,7? - 2019? (6,6 - 2018)

My Points: 7,5 - 3,5/5

At the end of the movie, I wrote down "good movie". And yes, that (good movie) this indeed was - I almost gave four (****) stars, but not quite...

The "rich guy paying for sex" -scene was nice. And propably(?) kinda realistic, rich guy thinking that he get what he wants - 'cause he's rich. And thinks he's interesting. But what happened to the arrogant man, watch the movie (not that it was something special, but good scene/happening...)!

The main actor/actress pair was good. Jennifer "Dominika Egorova" Lawrence and Joel "Nate Nash" Edgerton, to be precise. The chemistry between them were good!

The movie had great ambience, nice spy drama thriller.

And that was good, that Dominika didn't kicked everyone ass by she's own! Actually, she sometimes just didn't do nothing, just gave up - 'cause she knew she could win! So she wasn't any supergirl, although she had trained. That was good, I liked that very much.

And the wounds seemed realistic, who (good guy, good girl, or bad guy... or anyone) got them - slowned them down. It is so stupid in nowadays movies, that if you get stabbed/shooted - you don't notice nothing... For example Scream 6 (which I saw about a week ago), so ridiculous. At the end (of Scream), the good guy/girl just walked off - while he/she had stabbed a couple of times. There were ambulances, but who cares - which ("who cares") seems to be a nowadays "vogue". I dont like that, I like realism!

Not that every movie has to be "realistic as shit", but... just at least some realism - not that you get stabbed by a knife and it doesn't do anything to you...

To torture scene(s) - couple of them, were kinda brutal. I have seen worse, but it looked like it is actually happening. Nicely done!

So, a good movie - which I definately recommend. Except if you are a "Hollywood 2020 FTW!!1" guy, then you might not like this one. But, I definately recommend - that you give this one a chance! I'm just a little bit disappointed, that this didn't got four stars (from me) - it was so close. Something were missing, I dont know what... Maybe something suprising, although the end was pretty nice.

Movie review - Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate

Director: Tim Miller

Actors: Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mackenzie Davis

My guess: 7,1? - 2019? (6,2 - 2019)

My Points: 6,5 - 3/5

Well, this was a kinda shit movie - and not just "kinda"...

The opening scene was nice, when they showed scene from the old movie (T2) - it was nice.

The "CGI young" Terminator, it was horrible. Didn't looked like anything of Arnold. Why they didn't just do it completely with CGI? No, they hired some muscle guy to do it, who didn't looked like anything of Arnold - lame!

And then the "CGI young Arnold" shit killed John Connor, okay?! Not that I would be sad, but... it was just stupid!

Linda "Sarah Connor" Hamilton entrance was nice, pretty bad ass! I also liked Mackenzie "Grace" Davis. They'r (Sarah and Grace) chemistry was good.

Arnold "T-800/Carl" Schwarzenegger was good and funny. Although, light years away from the first movies, but pretty good role.

Why didn't I first reviewed the first movies? Well, this movie was available, and I have seen them (the first movies) so many times that I cant even count anymore. But no worries, some day I will watch e'm again - and review. They (1 & 2) are so great, expecially compared to this shit...

But overall, this was somewhat watchable movie - but, well... kinda shit afterall! Expecially if you are a fan of the first one, and haven't seen the latest "shitty" Terminator movies, then you may not like this one. But if you like the new ones, this is pretty mediocre - but watchable.

But if you dont like the first ones, but like the new ones - then, oh'boy - we have a problem...

Movie review - Conspiracy Theory

Conspiracy Theory

Director: Richard Donner

Actors: Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewart

My guess: 7,1? - 1997? (6,7 - 1997)

My Points: 7,3 - 3,5/5

Well, this was a good movie. Maybe I gave too much points to the previous film, Jumanji: The Next Level (6,3). This got only one point more, even this was way... WAY too much better movie - than that pile of shit! But, what's done, is done (or could I lower Jumanji's points, dont know - why bother, a shitty movie is a...)!

The radio scene was nice, when Mel "Jerry Fletcher" Gibson tried - and succeeded, to get the same radio channel than Julia "Alice Sutton" Roberts. I liked that one, old movies contain good shit as like that one.

Jerry and Alice had a good chemistry, i liked that one. When they tortured Jerry, that was kinda brutal - hard to watch. Points for that! Jerry had a nice house (decor), I liked it.

Patrick Stewart was kinda boring... I mean, not boring - but kinda blank.

When the police stormed to Jerrys house, that was some nice action.

Well, this was a very good film - what else can you say. I definately recommend too see this one, expecially if you like "old" (what is old, and for who? For me, this is old) movies. And if you dont (like "old" movies), this could still work for you. For me, this worked very well!

Movie review - Jumanji: The Next Level

Jumanji: The Next Level

Director: Jake Kasdan

Actors: Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart

My guess: 6,1? - 2020? (6,7 - 2019)

My Points: 6,3 - 3/5

First of, maybe I oughta reviewed the first movie first - but... I can do that later, it's not so important.

Second, well... this movie sucked! I'm gonna straight skip to the end; it/this tried to be emotional - waht?! Boring stupid movie, and it tries to be something good (emotional)? Well it went straight to garbage, I could give a flying f**k..!!

Then back to beginning, which I dont see a point - just end this peacefully here!

Well, something good - it was nice to see Danny DeVito & Danny Glover. Man, they have gotten old. They didn't have a big role, which I predicted.

The CGI was shit! The ostrich chase, so freaking ridiculous. I maybe not oughta not concentrate on the stupid CGI parts, 'cause there were alot of them.

But maybe I oughta mention a couple (of bad CGI); the characters look so stupid jumping and "parkouring" - it looked like a game, so stupid looking CGI shit! The hippo, looked like trash.

This movie tried to be "good action-packed adventure" movie, but oh'boy - this was total shit!

It seemed to be a good movie, but how wrong was I..? I mean, it aint all bad - this had some good moments. Good actors at least... As you can see by my points (6,3 - 3/5), this had something. Not much, but something... Although I poor-mouth this so much, gotta defend this somewhat - dont know why bother...

The actors, pretty good cast! Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ofcourse, he was the best part of the movie - with Kevin Hart, he's so hilarious. Jack Black were also very funny. And Rory "GoT" McCann, I like him. Although he (Rory) wasn't great at this movie, pretty mediocre role in this one - but still I gotta mention him.

Then there were Karen Gillan & Awkwafina, they were also pretty good. Awkwafina for more, I have liked her - for example in Ocean's 8.

So afterall, pretty watchable movie - but that aint alot! I could easily say, that I wasted two hours of my life, but...

If I remember correctly, the first movie was pretty good. I could have first watch and review that (before this travesty), but I had intrest on this one (dont know why), and I dont got the first movie (I have neither this one, in my collection - watched this free from cable TV, thank god...)! Then I could just have loaned it from a friend, but... What a travesty that would have been, that I had paid money for this?!

Altough, I gotta admit - I went to the movie theater to see this carbage. And then I seemed to like this, dont know why... But now the time has eaten this, this has gone old... and bad!

So dont watch this shit, except if you are a fan of the first movie. Or a fan of some/all actors... But what I recommend, is that forget these CGI shit movies - and watch the first movie (1995)! Now that's a good movie, although time has eaten it very much (CGI is awful) - but it's a "good action-packed adventure" movie, which this tries to be - but it aint even close!

I will have nighmares of the ridiculous CGI...

Movie review - Superman Returns

Superman Returns

Director: Bryan Singer

Actors: Brandon Routh, Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth

My guess: 6,6? - 2008? (6,1 - 2006)

My Points: 7,4 - 3,5/5

Well, this was a good movie - very!

Brandon Routh was good as Clark Kent/Superman, but Kevin Spacey hit the pot - he was awesome as Lex Luthor!

Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane was a bit boring at the beginning, but as the movie got along - she became alot better/interesting. I wrote down, that Teri Hatcher & Amy Adams were alot better as Lois. But I gotta take that back, Kate were also very good.

The shuttle/plane scene was nice, as was the "Minigun (or the handgun) to the eye" - nice slowmo.

The scale model track were nice. Dont know was it real, or just made by special effects. But all the way, it was nice.

Superman & Lois had a nice "flying" moment, this movie were pretty emotional - I liked that. Did I cry? No... But I got emotional a couple of times, there were couple of nice scenes...

The brake "hoax" sabotage was funny. As Lex said, you cant never trust in just acting - better make it real. I laughed my ass off!

Kevin "wrong..!!" Spacey scene were nice, I liked it way back when I saw this for the first time (and in the trailer also...)!

The Piano scene, where it got figured out - that Jason White was Supermans son. I didn't like that - no, the piano flying was nice, but - that Superman has a son. That's lame!

Thankfully this movie didn't got sequel - where the son would have been older. Or if they are still making it, hopefully not. If they wanna persue that, maybe a TV show to Netflix or what ever... But a movie, where is also Superman - no thanks...

The beating of Superman, it was very grotesque - it was hard to watch. But kudos to the moviemakers.

This was a very good film, not just nerds - in my opion this suits to everybody, or maybe for young child this is too raw. And who doesn't like Superman! Definately a thumb up and recommendation from me...
